At our real estate agency in Pollensa, Pollentia Properties, we are all well aware of our corporative social responsibility and we would love to take part in creating a society and a world, which are worth living in. Therefore, we see it as a given that part of our work is supporting social causes and to raise funds for them. We are very proud, and it means a lot to us, to help fundraise for our photographer Matt, who has a really special, personal and touching story connected to a charity which, we think, too often gets forgotten: brain research.
Matt’s mother, Linda, passed away from a brain haemorrhage right before Christmas in 1999, so on Saturday the 22nd of April, Matt will be running the famous Virgin London Marathon in memory of her.
“It’s incredible what can become of a silly idea if you really believe in it and follow it through to the end. I started running 7 years ago and haven’t looked back since then.
7 half marathons, 1 half Ironman and a handful of Muay Thai fights later, my brother and I had the idea of running the Virgin London Marathon! I honestly wasn’t expecting to get a place this year (or any year to be honest) but thankfully Brain Research UK were interested in us running with them and believed in us! My brother and I are working hard fundraising and are so proud to be raising money for this fantastic charity and of course, to be running in the memory of our mum.
My brother and I decided it was time to try and give something back and have decided to attempt to make a difference to the future through running, we will be running 42K to raise money for the charity Brain Research UK, this is one of the leading UK Brain research charities and are at the forefront of what they do.
If you would like to make a donation to Brain Research UK we would be very grateful as it will help them to fund neurological research to help people with brain conditions and to avoid them occurring in the first place.
At Pollentia Properties we want to support our colleague Matt in his endeavour to raise money for his chosen charity so we have placed a collection box in our office with informative leaflets printed by Brain Research UK so that anybody who wishes to do so can contribute to this worthy cause. You can as well donate online and help Matt in collecting money for Brain Research UK! And if you should be in London by chance on the 22nd of April, feel free to cheer for him and his brother while passing by or crossing the finish line!
