On the 12th of May Alcudia will welcome for the second consecutive year the IRONMAN 70.3. The athletes that take part in this challenge will undergo 1,9 km of swimming, 90km of cycling and a 21,1 km run. Also, the one that is held in Mallorca is well known for being one of the toughest in the world. To begin the challenge, the participants will start from the Puerto Alcudia beach and after having completed the swimming part in the bay will pick up their bikes and face a 90 km cycle towards the Serra de Tramuntana. The athletes end their cycling tour in Alcudia, but not before passing Pollensa and suffering the Coll de Femenia incline, which can be a task even for the most experienced of cyclists. After facing the mountain range their first destination is the village of Selva, continuying through Muro, Sa Pobla and finally Puerto Alcudia. The last leg of the race consists of two and a half laps of the idyllic beach where the race began. These titanic challenges are very hard, but the most difficult part is that they must be completed in under 8 hours.
