We all know that Mallorca is a true paradise both for tourists and for the property market. Furthermore, the land is perfect for growing grapes and olives. The island produces top quality fruit in abundance.
Due to the reduced dimension of agricultural land here, production on a large scale is obviously out of the question so quality is of paramount importance. The wine produced in Mallorca is gaining a reputation for excellence both on the domestic market and abroad. In consequence, Mallorcan vineyards sell their entire production with no difficulty whatsoever.
If we concentrate our efforts in obtaining a high quality product on our tiny island, which is visited by 20 million people every year with increasing spending power, if the greater part of our investments go to the property market and if we can attract clients through a variety of leisure pursuits, then success is guaranteed!
As it stands today, all Mallorcan wine producers have a commitment to sell their entire production. Each year, this production is increased but even so, more wine is imported than that produced locally.
In Mallorca Vineyards we know where we are going. Our products will continue to be top quality and more and more exclusive. Our projects incorporate the latest technology and designs.
In Mallorca Vineyards we are continually searching for the best and most adequate type of vines. We work closely with the experts to select the strongest and most vigorous plants, to carry out the most precise and healthy grafting process and to obtain the right size of grape. We use natural processes with no genetic engineering which would lead to loss of aroma. Our vineyards are not too big (max, 6000kg/h) and we seek linear perfection through GPS.
We use the land but we don’t over use it. Our subterranean irrigation system is a vital aid to growing the vines but at the same time is visually friendly. We practise ecological agriculture and we recommend manual harvesting in 50x35x35cm boxes.
We also recommend harvesting based on the level of acidity rather than the level of sugar.
When the grapes are picked and brought into the wine cellar we start the production process using high technology machinery which selects only the best grapes.
The duration of the maturing process depends on the intensity of the wine that we wish to achieve. The intensity can later be adjusted by contact with the oak casks. In our wine cellars we use French oak casks which guarantee a correct level of the ageing process and degree of intensity every year. We use every means within our reach to produce the best possible wine.
We love traditional varieties of wine, local wines, light, elegant wines, intense wines with an aroma of fruit, pale rosé wines and deliciously enticing white wines.
