The summer solstice is one of the most special days for towns across the entire Mediterranean. Every year on the 21st of June we welcome the arrival of summer and look forward to the celebrations of the night of Sant Joan, on the 23rd of June, which for decades countries such as France, Italy and Germany have celebrated it with music. This important date also coincides with the celebration of the International Music Day. This event, which is celebrated across the globe, will see the participation of the town which is home to our real estate agency in Pollensa and offers an eclectic programme of various genres brought to you by an array of local artists.
The squares and streets of Pollensa start to enjoy a musical atmosphere as of 6pm on the 21st of June. The objective of this celebration is to bring together the people of Pollensa and offer the largest variety possible of different musical styles in a free event where new and up and coming acts can also have an opportunity to perform. By doing it this manner, crowds don’t have to head to concert venues, the music comes to the people and they can enjoy it in the open summer air. Pollentia Properties, real estate agency in Pollensa, will be collaborating with this organisation so that it be a completely successful evening.
Up to 17 bands offering genres such as Pop, Reggae, Flamenco, Blues, Swing, Electronic, Folk, Rock, Traditional Music and Classical Music will be those in charge of providing the music for the 2019 edition in Pollensa. The headliners for this year’s event include Daniel Higiénico, Sofia Viola and Manteca Latin Project and will be accompanied by the following groups: Al Voleo, Arnaud Bazin, De Txamba Na, Flame & The Flames, Julie & Pep Toni, Neus & Sinead, Nil Torres, Pep Garau Trio, Springtime Jam, Tom Trovador, U Dirty Rices, Reinoso y Victor Uris Trio. Also, there will be an extra open mic session for anyone who is brave enough to come on stage and perform a song or two.
The International Music Day in Pollensa is organized by the Ajuntament de Pollença, Caixa Colonya and the Associació de Músics de Pollença, with collaborations from a lot of local town suppliers and businesses, in which you will also find Pollentia Properties, our real estate agency in Pollensa.
