Pollentia Properties, your local estate agency in Mallorca, takes part in the most important events on the island. For this reason, we have participated in the Mapfre King´s Cup as sponsors of the Wanderlust Sailing Team.
As sponsors, we have accompanied this top class team throughout their participation in the competion. The team, made up of competitors from the island, took 3rd place in the overall classifcation in the category of Balearia ORC 3. Even though the regatta has a very high level and the other competitors top class, the boat performed outstandingly during most of the competition.
The Mapfre King´s Cup is an unmissable anual event for amateurs and lovers of boats and sailing. The competition, which held its 42nd edition in August, is a must for teams that aspire to compete at an international level.
Since it started in 1982, the Mapfre King´s Cup has brought together the best sailing competitors at the highest level from Spain and the Mediterranean. The Bay of Palma gradually started to become a place that attracts the most spectacular vessels from all over the world.
As a result of the gradual increase in the number of participants and the relevance of the regatta, the Mapfre King´s Cup was included in the points system for the world wide conpetitions for Maxi class. The Mallorca emblematic regatta, closely linked to the Royal Family, has gained in prestige since it was included in world and continental circuits.
When it started to stand out in the world of international high class competitions, the Mapfre King´s Cup started to look towards the future in order to adjust its format to include new classes.
Every August, in the Balearics and specifically Mallorca, this competition held at the Royal Yacht Club in Palma (RCNP)is an unmissable event on the calendar.
