Pollensa Fair, an open window to the tradition of Mallorca

Pollença is getting ready to celebrate its emblematic Fair on November 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th. This event, organized every year by the Pollensa Town Hall, is a celebration of local identity and heritage and an opportunity to keep traditions alive and to strengthen community ties.

With origins rooted in the 18th century, the “fira” is a coming together year after year of both local residents and the hundreds of visitors who come for the festivities and to share experiences and pay tribute to Pollensa´s rich history.

The Santo Domingo cloisters, the heart of craftwork

The Pollensa Fair is much more than just a market. It is an opportunity to submerge ourselves in the most deeply rooted traditions of the area. The Santo Domingo Cloisters is transformed each year into a hive of creativity and a meeting point for the most outstanding craft workers from all over the island.

Visitors will be able to admire and acquire unique objects created by expert hands, such as ceramics, jewelry, textiles or carved from wood. The offer is endless and exquisite.

The traditional agricultural exhibition is also present together with the craft fair since agriculture is very important in this area. The Landworkers Cooperative of Pollensa have actively collaborated over the last few years with the Town Hall to offer a wide range of activities.  

An event for all the senses

The Pollença Fair, with stands along all the streets in the town, is also a place to discover the rich local cuisine. Visitors can try typical products such as “Pollença Lamb” native to the area and watch live cooking demonstrations.

The smell of newly baked bread, traditional music, the bright colours on the stands and people enjoying themselves create a unique atmosphere which enchants all the senses.
