Born in Milan in 1912, Aligi Sassu was one of the great Italian artists of the 20th century. A painter, sculptor and ceramist, he began his career connected to the Futurist movement and later developed a distinctive personal language featuring red, horses, bullfighting themes and Mediterranean mythology. Throughout his life, he moved between Italy, Switzerland and Spain. He passed away in Pollença—on his 88th birthday—leaving behind a profound artistic legacy.

One of the most emotional connections with Cala Sant Vicenç is the Via Crucis, which the artist donated to the local church.
