Cycling routes in Pollensa to enjoy the north of Mallorca as never before.

Cycling routes in Pollensa to enjoy the north of Mallorca as never before.

Mallorca is one of the top destinations for sports lovers, and especially for those who enjoy cycling through scenic roads, breathtaking landscapes, and charming villages.

It would be impossible to list all the routes across the island in a single post. For this reason, we’ll focus on the north of Mallorca and recommend a selection of routes around Pollensa—perfect starting points to explore the island on two wheels.

Cycling in Pollensa

Whether you are an amateur or a professional cyclist, Pollensa offers routes for all levels, allowing you to discover nearby landscapes and picturesque villages.

What’s more, the island’s climate—especially in spring and autumn—is ideal for cycling.

The key is simple: plan your route well, take your time, and enjoy both the journey and the destination.

Without further ado, here are some of the routes we recommend for your stay in Mallorca.

Carretera Cap de Formentor

Route from Pollensa to Cap Formentor

This is one of the most iconic routes in Mallorca. If done as a round trip, it is approximately 40 km long with around 200 m of elevation gain, making it an intermediate-level route—accessible yet rewarding.

The best part? You can complete it in a single morning.

Starting from Puerto Pollensa, take the main road towards the Mirador de Sa Creueta, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the famous Colomer rock. The climb is around 3.3 km with a 220 m elevation gain.

From there, continue for another 13 km until you reach Cap de Formentor and its iconic lighthouse.

For the return, you can retrace your steps or extend your ride by visiting Pollensa’s old town or even heading towards the Monastery of Lluc for a more challenging route.

Route from Pollensa to the Monastery of Lluc

This is another intermediate-level route, covering approximately 52 km and taking you deep into the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana.

Thanks to its elevation, temperatures tend to be slightly cooler—making it ideal for warmer days.

To reach the Monastery of Lluc, climb via the Coll de sa Batalla and descend through Coll de Femenia, passing through the charming village of Campanet.

Ciclismo Mallorca

Route from Pollensa to La Victoria

A truly beautiful route with breathtaking coastal scenery—and one of the shortest options, at just 32 km.

Start by heading to Puerto Pollensa and take the bay road towards Alcudia, which includes a cycle lane. Continue towards Puerto de Alcudia, then follow signs to Mal Pas and on to the coastal road leading to La Victoria.

The route is not overly demanding (maximum elevation around 444 m), making it a great option for a relaxed ride.

You can also stop at the Ermita de La Victoria—perfect for a rest while enjoying incredible views over the bay.

Route from Pollensa to S'Albufera Natura Park

This is the easiest of all the routes we recommend: a flat 30 km ride, ideal for beginners or those looking for a more relaxed experience.

From Puerto Pollensa, follow the road along the Bay of Alcudia, passing through Puerto de Alcudia. Continue towards Artà until you reach S’Albufera Natural Park.

This protected wetland is a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers. The area is well signposted and includes several observation points.
