Palma Marathon 2026: Running Through Mallorca’s Capital

Palma Marathon 2026: Running Through Mallorca’s Capital

At Pollentia Properties, we believe that discovering Mallorca also means experiencing the events that bring its towns and cities to life. On Sunday, 18 October, the Palma Marathon 2026 will bring an unmistakable sense of energy to the island’s capital, gathering runners, supporters and visitors for a day that combines international sport with Palma’s architecture, waterfront and Mediterranean atmosphere.

All 9,500 places across the marathon, half marathon and 10K had already been allocated by 2 April 2026. Although registration is now closed, the event remains an excellent reason to experience Palma in autumn, whether you are supporting a runner, enjoying the atmosphere or simply spending a weekend in the city.

The official video from the 2025 edition offers a glimpse of the energy, international spirit and Mediterranean setting that make the TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca such a memorable event.

Palma Marathon 2026: date and race distances

The TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca takes place on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Participants will compete over three distances:

  • Marathon
  • Half marathon
  • 10K

According to the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, the 2026 event will welcome runners from up to 70 countries. International participants represent 95% of those registered, while female participation is expected to reach 49% for the first time in the event’s history.

The three distances are certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, and the Palma event is a full member of AIMS. These credentials reflect its international profile and the professional standards behind its organisation.

A race with Palma as its setting

Part of the appeal of the Palma Marathon lies in the city itself. Mallorca’s capital brings together an impressive seafront, historic streets, lively neighbourhoods and a cultural heritage shaped over centuries.

La Seu Cathedral dominates the skyline beside the Bay of Palma, while the surrounding Old Town reveals peaceful courtyards, traditional townhouses, small squares and some of the city’s most recognisable architecture. Closer to the sea, the Paseo Marítimo offers a more contemporary side of Palma, with its marina, waterfront restaurants and open views across the bay.

This contrast gives Palma its distinctive character. It is a compact and engaging city that can be explored on foot, yet every neighbourhood has its own rhythm. During marathon weekend, the presence of runners and supporters adds another dimension to the city’s already lively atmosphere.

The 2026 edition is sold out

Demand for the Palma Marathon 2026 has been exceptional. All available places were allocated more than six months before race day, considerably earlier than for the previous edition.

Anyone planning to attend should therefore be aware that standard race entries are no longer available. For the latest information about the programme, routes, spectator arrangements and any official updates, visit the official TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca website.

Even without a race number, there are many ways to enjoy the occasion. Spectators can follow the atmosphere around the city, support the participants and combine the event with a visit to Palma’s historic centre, galleries, restaurants and seafront.

An autumn weekend in Mallorca

October offers a particularly pleasant opportunity to discover Palma. The intense pace of summer has eased, but the city remains full of life. Terraces, markets and cultural venues continue to create a welcoming setting for residents and visitors alike.

Those travelling for the marathon can extend their stay to explore different parts of the capital. A morning in the Old Town, a walk beside the marina or an evening overlooking the bay all reveal why Palma appeals to people looking for more than a holiday destination.

For many international visitors, events such as the Palma Marathon also provide a glimpse of everyday life on the island. Palma combines connections to the rest of Europe with access to the sea, an active outdoor lifestyle and a rich calendar of cultural and sporting events.
