Anima de la Traviata by Verdi is coming to Pollensa

The fourth edition of the MallorcOpera encompasses long awaited events such as Anima de la Traviata by Verdi, an opera which will be performed on Saturday June 18th at 21.30 in the Santo Domingo Cloisters in Pollensa.

The production of Anima de la Traviata de Verdi is made up of  parts of the opera La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi.  Maria Victòria Cortès has composed the music and Eugenia Corbacho, Nùria Vilà (soprano), José Manuel Sánchez (tenor), Lluís Sintes (baritone) and Francesc Blanco (piano) are all involved in the stage direction.

The performance comprises three parts with music by Giuseppe Verdi and a libretto in Italian based on the novel The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas published for the first time in 1848. Initially titled Violetta, the name of the main character, the story narrates the sad life of a Parisien courtesan.

A ticket for the staging of the opera Anima de la Traviata by Verdi will cost 15 euros and you will be able to enjoy listening to the magnificent voices of this top-class cast.

 

Nùria Vilà, soprano

 

Nuria Villano was born in Barcelona and finalized her singing lessons in the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo with the maximum qualifications and  tutored by Carmen Bustamante.

Furthermore, she won first prize for Singing in the 14th International Music Competition Josep Mirabent y Magrans, second in the 6th International Competition Hermanos Plano Ciudad de Balaguer and was finalist in the XII Singling Competition “Premio Manuel Susensi”.

 

José Manuel Sánchez, tenor

 

The lyric tenor José Manuel Sánchez has performed in numerous operas, musicals and operettas in Spain and France.  This performer made his debut as Alfredo in La Traviata in the Castell de Son Mas Festival in Mallorca and sang the Requiem by Verdi with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Islas Baleares conducted by José María Moreno.

The young tenor is a highly valued singer and in Mallorca, the island of his birth, has performed in numerous recitals.  He works with several choirs and orchestras, notably the Symphony Orchestra of Baleares or the Capilla Mallorquina.

 

Lluis Sintes, baritone

 

Born in Menorca, Lluis Sintes made his debut in the Gran Teatro del Liceo in 1992 and has performed there well over one hundred times. He has also sung on many occasions in the Palau de la Música Catalana and in the Auditorio de Barcelona.

 

Francesc Blanco, piano

 

Born in Palma in 1970, Francesc Blanco began studying piano in the Baleares Conservatory and in 1993 finalized the Higher-Level Piano Studies with top grades in the Valencia Conservatory of Music, after having studied with Emili Muriscot in Palma and with Ramón Coll in the Liceo de Barcelona School of Music.
